How Ballot Paper Design Influences Voting Behavior
The ballot paper design is an important aspect which has been known to directly affect the behavior as well as the decision making ability of the voter depending on the design of the ballot. A well balanced ballot can make it easier for the voters to follow through with the voting process which in turn raises the level of participation and minimizes the mistakes. On the other hand, an ill designed ballot paper can make the voters confused causing them to make errors or even refrain from casting their vote. The proper design of the ballot paper includes however not limited to clear directions achieved through the use of graphs and illustrations in sequential order.
